This privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use and store your personal data. We will review this policy from time to time and will publish any changes on our website. 

Another Way is a Data Controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) because we process personal information about you. 

We may collect data from you because you contact us in relation to our charity, its work, an event we are running or to make a donation. This may be through a third party such as People’s Fundraising if you give your consent to them for your information to be shared with us.

Another Way’s Power of Ten App is hosted by a third party, Discourse, who act as a data processor of our app users’ data.

Information that we collect includes your name, title, date of birth, email and postal address. We may collect other information about you if you provide it in communications with us, or via People’s Fundraising. We will only use this as far as is necessary and reasonable for our purposes. 

Another Way will use this information as follows 

  • To process any donations and claim Gift Aid where applicable. 
  • To provide information and feedback for an event organised by Another Way which you have agreed to take part in 
  • To provide information about Another Way news and events 
  • To provide information about any campaigns or projects which Another Way is running or supporting 
  • To process membership of Another Way 
  • To provide information, benefits and services related to membership 
  • To enable the functioning of the Power of Ten movement 
  • To comply with requirements imposed on Another Way by law 

We will only use your information because we have a lawful legitimate interest in using your information for a particular purpose.  

The data which we hold about you is held securely. We will hold your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it is held and for legal reasons. From time to time we may review the data and erase data that is no longer needed.  

You can ask us to delete or restrict the data we hold about you at any time. You may request access to the data we hold or request that we change the data. You can also object to us processing your data. Please email us at admin@another-way.org.uk to make any of these requests.  

We will not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes, only where it is necessary for practical purposes such as collecting Gift Aid.  We will never sell your data. If you make a donation via Peoples’ Fundraising, they will collect your data and share it quality with us to enable us to receive the donation and process any Gift Aid. Our website may have links to third party websites such as our partners. We do not have control over those websites and cannot be responsible for their privacy practices.  

If a data breach occurs at any time, we will advise you within 72 hours in line with GDPR.

3.1 Site visitation tracking Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website. Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this. We consider Google to be a third party data processor (see section 6.0 below). GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides. Our website uses the analytics.js implementation of GA. Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.
3.2 Contacting us using a form If you choose to contact us using the pop-up or contact page forms then we will collect your name (as you have written it) and email address. Your telephone number is optional. The form submits the message via a secure SSL connection directly to our email inbox, the website itself does not store any of your details.

5. SECURING DATA TRANSFER & THIS WEBSITE’S SERVER 

The connection your web browser has to our site is secured with an SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt meaning any data transferred from our server to your browser (or from you to us) is encrypted and secure. The website is hosted by 123 reg within a UK data centre.

6. OUR DATA PROCESSORS 

6.1 Personal Data Processors Our main third party that processes personal data on our behalf is Google. This third party has been carefully chosen and complies with the legislation set out in section 2.0. They are based in the USA and are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant. Google (Privacy policy)

7. DATA BREACHES 

Any unlawful data breach of this website’s database or the database(s) of any of our third party data processors will be reported to any and all relevant persons and authorities within 72 hours of the breach if it is apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner has been stolen.

8.1 Data Handling We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
