Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a writer and researcher specialising in the environmental humanities. I’m passionate about thinking historically and philosophically about the human relationship with the rest of the natural world and am about to start an MA in Cultural and Intellectual History.

What do you enjoy most about working for Another Way?

As a volunteer reviewer for Translating Science, I love getting the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research in ecology and climate science while also helping others to hone their journalistic writing skills.

Which environmental topics are you most excited about?

I’m especially interested in the tensions and synergies between biodiversity, rewilding, and the rights of nature on the one hand and farming, rural livelihoods, and land rights on the other.

What are some small steps you take to create a more sustainable lifestyle for yourself?

I’m committed to rejecting consumerism wherever possible, such as by trying to only ever buy secondhand clothes.

Leave us with a small piece of positive news you’ve heard this week!

The International Court of Justice has set a date for a landmark case concerning states’ responsibility for climate action that will seek to answer two questions: what are nations obliged to do under international law to protect the climate? and what are the legal consequences for governments that fail to act?
